Active-time combat changes urgency, readability, and the way players make decisions.

Ichiloto ships with two recognizable combat feels.

Classic turn-based

This mode favors deliberate decision-making. It is easier to read, easier to balance around menus, and often better for story-heavy or tactics-heavy projects.

Active-time battle

This mode adds urgency. Readiness matters, hesitation has a cost, and encounters feel more kinetic even when they still rely on menus and ability choices.

The useful question is not which mode is more modern. The useful question is which mode better supports your game's identity:

  • careful planning or constant motion
  • slower readability or constant pressure
  • broad audience accessibility or faster execution demands

Pick the rhythm that reinforces the fantasy you want the player to feel.
